The pathophysiological mechanism of nocturnal obstruction and swallowing dysfunction commonly occurring in sleep apnea patients is unclear. We aimed to investigate whether nerve injuries in the upper airways of snoring and sleep apnea patients are associated with pharyngeal dysfunction and severity of sleep apnea.
